Heat and 1460 The Ticket Announce Radio Deal

October 1, 2002 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Harrisburg Heat News Release

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Heat of the Major Indoor Soccer League and Central Pennsylvania's premier sports radio station, 1460 The Ticket, today announced that they have come to terms on a one-year deal which will add the Heat to that station's play-by-play lineup for the 2002-03 season, beginning with this Saturday's season opener in Philadelphia at 7:05 p.m.

Heat institution John Wilsbach, who has seen every game in the franchise's history, will handle the play by play. Harrisburg's game on December 7 at home against the Cleveland Force will be Wilsbach's 500th Heat broadcast.

"I'm excited about this new relationship with The Ticket," said Wilsbach. "Their signal strength will allow us to reach more Heat fans than ever before, and their commitment to the Central PA sports fan is exceptional. This new arrangement should provide an outstanding showcase for the new-look 2002-03 Heat."

As has been the case for the past several years, Heat games will also be simulcast over the Internet courtesy of PennLive.com. The simulcast will be accessible on the Heat's home in cyberspace, www.heatsoccer.com, as well as on the new Broadcast Center at the official Internet home of the MISL, www.misl.net.

Numerous select Heat games will also be broadcast on WMSS 91.1 FM out of Middletown.

"The Ticket is proud to have the Harrisburg Heat join its lineup of exciting play by play," said The Ticket spokesman R.J. Harris. "The Heat has a long tradition of entertaining fans in Central Pennsylvania, and 1460 The Ticket is glad to be the catalyst behind bringing Heat games to those fans."

Pending the start time of several NASCAR races (all of which are currently To Be Announced), a small number of Heat games may be joined in progress or pre-empted. All games, however, will air in their entirety over the Internet, and many are likely to air in their entirety on WMSS 91.1 FM.
