Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
There's something about New Years' Eve for Anthony Schooley.
His first Black Hawk goal Sunday night came midway through the second period and put Waterloo in front permanently, en route to a 3-2 win over the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders. Last season as a futures player, Schooley had an assist on New Years' Eve in one of two games he played in.
Craig Smith set up Schooley's score and put in the goal that made the difference late in the third. Cedar Rapids rallied, but could not overcome the deficit. Matt Arhontas had the opening goal early in the second period.
The Hawks hit the road for two games in Tri-City Friday and Saturday. The next Hawks home game is Friday, January 12th against Sioux Falls.
