
Hawks' Prospects Slobodian and Perlinger to Participate in SJHL/MJHL U18 Showcase

Portland, Ore. - Portland Winterhawks prospects Cole Slobodian and Cobe Perlinger have been named to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL)/Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) 18U Showcase event taking place in Winnipeg, Man. from January 30-31, 2024. The two-game event brings together the top under-18 and under-20 players from the respective leagues to participate in the showcase.
Slobodian will represent the MJHL and the Virden Oil Capitals at the January showcase. The 6-foot-0, 185-pound blueliner has produced seven points in 32 games with the Oil Capitals. Prior to his time in the MJHL, Slobodian spent two seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings U18 AAA program. He finished second on his team in defensive scoring with six goals and 26 assists for 32 points in 44 games during the 2022-23 campaign. Slobodian previously signed a WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement with the Winterhawks on November 30, 2023.
Perlinger has been named to the SJHL U18 team that will compete in the two-game showcase later this month. Perlinger has played 33 games with the Kindersley Klippers and has notched six goals and seven assists for 13 points as a 16-year-old rookie. The local product of Kindersley, Sask. previously skated with the Swift Current Legionnaires U18 program during the 2022-23 season alongside current Winterhawk Hudson Darby, pacing the team with 46 points in 42 games.
Both Slobodian and Perlinger skated with the Winterhawks at this year's Neely Cup Training Camp. Good luck, Cole and Cobe!
