JOHNSTOWN - The Johnstown Tomahawks edged the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 3-2 Friday night at 1st Summit Arena for the franchise's 43rd win on the season.
Scoring Breakdown:
1st Period Recap
The Tomahawks control the play early on with extended zone time int he WB/Scranton zone, setting the tone early.
Johnstown broke through the scoreless tie when Hunter Toale sent a shot from the right point that deflected off a Knights defenseman past Zach Stejskal for a 1-0 lead for the Hawks.
Christian Gorscak deflected a shot from Matt Doyle into the back of the net for a 2-0 Tomahawks lead at 12:10 of the first period.

2nd Period Recap
The Tomahawks killed off an early Knights power play to start the second period off on the right foot.
Johnstown and WB/Scranton went back and forth during the middle frame generating quality scoring chances throughout.
After Knights defenseman Shay Donovan received a slashing call, Tomahawks forward Cameron Hebert wristed on past Stejskal for his 25th of the season and a 3-0 Tomahawks lead.

3rd Period Recap:
At the 13:19 mark of the third period, the Knights finally solved Cooper Lukenda with a goal from Jacob Badal.
The Knights cut the Tomahawks advantage to 3-2 at 15:19 when Anthony Mastromonica beat Lukenda high glove side.
The Tomahawks held strong on defense to hang on to the close 3-2 win.
