Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
An explosive second period vaulted the Waterloo Black Hawks to a 4-2 win against the Sioux Falls Stampede at Young Arena Friday.
Sioux Falls had a 1-0 lead after one period following a Terry Broadhurst goal at 3:59. A 4:37 span in the second period saw Waterloo tie the game and pull ahead by two, starting with Ben Miller's goal from a Michael Fink rebound at 8:53 of the second. Eriah Hayes poked in a rebound at 12:59, and J.T. Brown flipped one in 41 seconds later.
In the third, Jordan Samuels-Thomas added to the lead at 7:50 on a cross ice feed from Chris Student. George Michalke capped the scoring for Sioux Falls with 1:37 remaining.
Saturday the Black Hawks host Chicago at 7:05. Standing-room tickets still remain, and the first 500 fans will receive a reusable Black Hawks grocery tote from Hy-Vee.
