
Havoc wins inaugural game

HUNTSVILLE, AL â The Huntsville Havoc got a goal and an assist from James Patterson on their way to a 4-1 win over the Macon Trax.
Huntsville jumped scored first on an Aaron Lewis unassisted goal at the 2:22 into the second period. Macon responded quickly with a Craig Miller goal with assists from Edan Welch and Casey Handrahan with 16:35 left in the second period.
The Havoc got a goal fro Doug Merrell with 7:04 left in the second on assists from Corey Dean and Jessi Otis. Derek McKinlay added another second period goal with 4:28 left on assists from Mike Degurse and Patterson.
Patterson finished the scoring with 1:56 left in the game with assists from Degurse and Dan Buccella.
Matt Carmichael got with win stopping 41 of 42 shots. Mark Cairns stopped 40 in the loss.
Macon was 0-3 on power plays while Huntsville was 1-8. A total of 34 penalties were called for 112 minutes.
Huntsville will host the Knoxville Ice Bears tomorrow night at 7:30 at the Von Braun Center.
