
Haskins Traded to Saginaw

Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release
TORONTO, Ont. (August 15, 2006) - The St. Michael's Majors have agreed to a trade with the Saginaw Spirit. The Spirit receive veteran centreman Tyler Haskins while the Majors welcome young forward Dustin Ekelman to the fold, along with a conditional 14th round pick in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection and 15th round pick in the 2008 event. Saginaw also has the option to exchange 1st round picks in the 2007 CHL Import Draft.
Ekelman enjoyed a strong Jr. A rookie season in 2005-06 as a forward with the Bowmanville Eagles. The 6'1", 180 lb. native of Whitby, Ontario notched 38 points and 24 penalty minutes in 48 regular season games. Then, he tallied another 6 points in 18 playoff contests.
Haskins was the Majors captain during the 2005-06 season. His 75 and 5 points garnered during the regular season and playoffs, respectively, were both near the team lead. Also, his 5 regular season shorthanded goals were a modern-era team record.
