Hartford Colonials News Release
HARTFORD - The Hartford Colonials and Head Coach Chris Palmer will recognize the dedicated work by Interval House, the largest domestic violence agency in the state on Saturday, Oct. 9, at the UFL game against the Florida Tuskers at Rentschler Field.
To help raise awareness about domestic violence, Colonials players will wear purple wrist bands and purple ribbon decals on their helmets. Coaches will wear white caps with a purple bill. A limited number of hats will be sold for $12 on the concourse inside Gate C, with a portion of the proceeds going to Interval House.
In addition, the team is asking fans to donate their old cell phones and accessories to be collected and used toward the prevention of domestic violence.
Coach Palmer is among a group prominent men in the state who has joined Interval House's Men Make a Difference, Men Against Domestic Violence=99 campaign.
"Having the Colonials and such a prominent sports figure like Coach Palmer supporting Interval House and its mission is invaluable in so many ways," said David Rivera, Interval House's Community Educator. "We are thankful for this unique partnership and look forward to working with him and the Colonials."
