Detroit Drive News Release

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm today lost Clinton Hart to the Utah Blaze who selected him in the 20th round of the Arena Football League expansion draft.

Hart, the 26-year-old Bushnell, Florida native, spent the 2001 season with the Storm where on he caught 24 passes for 242 yards and one touchdown. The 6-foot-2, 198-pound DB/WR made 53.5 tackles and intercepted three passes. On special teams, the Central Florida Community College baseball standout returned six kickoffs for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

"He's a talented young man and a very good athlete, who believe it or not, didn't play a snap of football while he was in college." Storm Head Coach Tim Marcum said. "Clinton is a perfect example of a player who has made a career in the NFL in part because of his exposure while playing arena football. We wish him the best of luck in his career."

Hart's football career began at a tryout in 2000 with the Tallahassee Thunder of the AFL2. After appearing with the Storm in 2001 he was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002. He was then allocated to NFL Europe where he spent a season with the Rhein Fire and Amsterdam Admirals. He then returned to Eagles' training camp where he spent time on their practice squad. In 2004, Hart was claimed off waivers by the San Diego Chargers. He appeared in 14 games with the Chargers last season and made nine tackles and recorded one interception.

The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm will host open tryouts for the 2006 Arena Football League season on October 9, 2005 starting at 10 a.m. on the campus of the University of Tampa. For more information please visit www.tampabaystorm.com.
