Harrisburg Heat Home Opener on Saturday

HARRISBURG, PA, Nov. 14, 2013 - The Harrisburg Heat open the home portion of their 2013-14 schedule on Saturday against the Detroit Waza in the Equine Arena of the State Farm Show Complex & Expo Center.

Kickoff is 7:05 p.m.

The game is a rematch of last Saturday's Professional Arena Soccer League season opener for both teams as the Heat beat the Waza, the defending Eastern Division champions, 8-7 on Tom Mellor's goal just 40 seconds into overtime.

The Heat (1-1) then lost Sunday's game in Cleveland 11-3. Detroit (0-1) has not played since losing to the Heat.

Saturday's home opener will be the Heat's only game for the weekend with their next game coming Saturday, Nov. 23, against Cleveland in the Equine Arena.

FREE STUFF

The first 500 fans on Saturday will receive a free T-shirt, courtesy of Bimbo Bakeries, which also will be giving away free bread after the game.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

The Heat will practice from 9-11 Thursday night at Sports City Harrisburg, 4141 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. As always, media may attend with coach Richard Chinapoo and players available before or after the workout for inter- views.

LOCALLY GROWN PRODUCT

The Heat's 16-man roster has a distinct local flavor with 13 players either born, raised or currently residing in an area stretching from Lancaster to Chambersburg. Five of the players - defenders Brad Kerstetter and Connor Malone, midfielder Kenneth Fultz, forward Mitchell Walters and goalkeeper Justin Johnson - were born in Harrisburg. Please see the roster on the attached early game notes for specifics on the entire team.
