Harden Signs With Cutters

New Haven County Cutters News Release


West Haven- The New Haven County Cutters announced today the signing of 1B-DH Thomari Story-Harden. Story-Harden played last season with the Mid-Missouri Mavericks and the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League.

Thomari was originally an 8th round selection of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1998, where he played for 6 seasons in their organization. The 6'5" righty will add serious power in the Cutters lineup, last season Thomari smacked 18 home runs and drove in 75 runs while compiling a .355 batting average in 91 games. Story-Harden's defensive numbers also are impressive committing only 13 errors in 700 total chances for a .989 fielding percentage.

Story-Harden was a league leader in many categories last season including 2nd in walks with 65; 4th in slugging with .614; 4th in runs with 78; fifth in batting average with a .355; and 1st in on-base percentage at .500.

The Cutters kick off the 2006 season on May 25th as they travel to take on the Brockton Rox. The Cutters will play their home opener on May 29th against 2005 Champion, Worcester Tornadoes.
