Hammers Looking to Stay Hot at Richmond

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Alabama Hammers, fresh off one of the best week's in franchise history, will look to continue their winning ways as they take on the Richmond Raiders (3-1) this Saturday at Richmond Coliseum.

Wide receiver Mico McSwain and linebacker Al Donaldson were both named Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) Players of the Week as the Hammers (1-2) pick up the first road win in franchise history and the first victory over the Columbus Lions (2-2) with an exciting 63-60 victory in Week 3 action.

McSwain caught eight passes for 135-yards and four touchdowns, including the game winning 5-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Arvell Nelson with 26-seconds left in the game. Donaldson, the PIFL leader in tackles, finished with six tackles and intercepted two passes on the night as the defense was able to keep the Lions out of the end zone in the final seconds.

The Raiders come into the game riding a two-game winning streak after rolling over the Knoxville Nighthawks 80-29 in Week 3. Quarterback Antwon Young completed 21-of-33 for 276 yards and eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. He connected with Andrew Winston for 10 receptions for 125 yards and five touchdowns.

The Hammers will be looking to slow down Young, who has thrown 17-touchdown passes to just two interceptions on the season and leads the league with 122- rushing yards on the season. Donaldson and the Hammers defense will have their hands full as the Raiders come in with the top scoring offense in the league at 60.5 points per game.
