Hammerheads vs Kreatures Post Game

April 10, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Corpus Christi Hammerheads News Release

Kissimmee, FL- The Hammerheads got things started early as the second play from scrimmage resulted in a 40 yard touchdown strike from QB Chris Harrington to WR Devin Green. After that the flood gates opened with a bevy of touchdowns by Fred Wallace, 4 on the day, bringing his total this year to 13 in just 4 games. Fred put on yet another show for the fans on the road as he rumbled for 4 touchdowns just two weeks after putting the ball in the end zone 6 times in Pasco, WA against Tri-Cities. Scores by Martin Dossett, Eddie Miller, his third kickoff return for a touchdown in 4 games, and Mike Green, his first on the year, also added to the demise of the Kreatures. The Hammerheads lit up the Kreatures to the tune of 21-7 in the first quarter and never looked back, finally beating the Kreatures by a score of 56-33. The Hammerheads improve to 3-1 on the year, keeping pace with the Beaumont Drillers and Southwest Louisiana Swashbucklers who were both in action and, at last check, winning at time of print. The Kreatures fall to 1-3 on the year.

The Kissimmee Kreatures, in their first year of play as an expansion team in the NIFL, had a couple of long run backs that yielded great field position ending in a few scores but just couldn't seem to keep things rolling. Unable to capitalize on Hammerhead miscues, the Kreatures pulled to within two points in the first half and only 10 at Halftime but were never able to withstand the onslaught of the SHARK BITE.

Although it did end up as the Fred Wallace show yet again, this game was definitely the coming out party for a Hammerheads Passing Attack that just seemed like it didn't have all pistons firing yet this season before tonight. Eddie Miller's kick return for a touchdown got the attention of the Kissimmee crowd early letting them know that Miller-Time is alive and well. The touchdown was his 4th on the year and his 3rd kickoff return for a touchdown in just 4 games.

The Hammerheads are looking to keep the momentum moving in their favor Monday April 18th at the American Bank Center against an Odessa Roughnecks team that has yet to lose this season. The Roughnecks look to be a tough match-up for the Hammerheads on Monday Night so the Hammerheads are now looking to their 9th Man, the fans in Corpus Christi, to come up big in support of them against Odessa. This game is looking like a real can't miss, so come on down be the 9th Man, SEE WHAT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT, Catch the EXCITEMENT and REEL IN THE ACTION.

Call (361) 814-PASS, visit www.ticketmaster.com, the American Bank Center Box Office, or any Ticketmaster outlet to get your tickets to the April 18th game against the Odessa Roughnecks.
