Corpus Christi Hammerheads News Release


CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. The NFL style, 16-game schedule has been announced for the 2004 Intense Football League campaign. The Corpus Christi Hammerheads are very pleased with league efforts to create a schedule that is as balanced as possible while still focusing on natural rivalries.

The Hammerheads open the season with a May 1st date with the San Angelo Stampede. The playing season then has the Hammerheads playing at the Odessa Roughnecks on Saturday May 8th. This will be the first of sixteen straight playing weeks for the team with the season also ending on the road Saturday, August 21st at the Amarillo Dusters. An additional highlight to the 2004 season is the IFL All-Star game to be played right here in Corpus Christi on Sunday, July 11th.

The Hammerheads are proud to host all weekend games with three Saturday night home games and five on Sundays. "Fans better get their Barbeque pits and aprons ready because we are going to tailgate", commented team president Chad Dittman, "We look forward to providing the Coastal Bend with a great family entertainment option all summer long." The team plans on introducing it's first-ever Head Coach on Wednesday the 28th and looks forward to the IFL meetings banquet on Friday night, January 30th at 7:00 PM at the Holiday Inn in Odessa.
