Corpus Christi Hammerheads News Release

The Corpus Christi Hammerheads, (6-6) finish of their regular season home campaign this Saturday night at the American Bank Center against the San Angelo Stampede Express (8-4).

Saturday nights match up is the last of two regular season games between the Lone Star East rivals. San Angelo beat the Hammerheads on March 27th, 45-31 thanks to 6 Hammerhead turnovers. With an opportunity to clinch a post season berth, the Hammerheads look to play a much crisper game on Saturday.

San Angelo currently sits in second place in the division and has already clinched a berth in the IFL post season. However, Corpus Christi still has the opportunity to leap-frog San Angelo by posting a win over the Stampede Express this week, winning next week in Odessa, and San Anglo losing in their season finale to Amarillo.

"We still have a chance at the fourth seed and a home playoff game", said Head Coach Stephen Fillmore. "We need to win out and then hope for some help, but, a return to the post season still remains our first goal. Once you are in, anything can happen", Fillmore added.

The Hammerheads are offering fans a great deal for Saturday. Kids under 11 are free with an accompanying adult ticket and the first 500 kids get a free hammerheads replica jersey. To take advantage of this offer, tickets must be purchased through the Hammerhead office by calling (361)814-PASS (7277).

"We're hoping for the biggest crowd of the season to help cheer us on to the post season", said Hammerheads Owner and President Chad Dittman. "The building is electric and intimidating to opposing teams when we have a full house".

Kickoff for Saturday is set for 7:05pm. Fans can follow the action on ESPN Corpus Christi, (1230AM, 96.1FM and 103.3FM), with Scott Howe. The radio broadcast begins at 3:40pm.
