Hammerheads Host Charleston Battery on Sunday

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is set to host the Charleston Battery on Sunday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. ET as they look to continue their unbeaten streak at Legion Stadium this season.
The Hammerheads enter their fifth match of the regular season following an early bye week in the schedule. Wilmington took a solid 3-0 victory over New York Red Bulls II two weeks ago on the road at Red Bull Arena. Forward Nick Zimmerman tallied two goals for the Hammerheads, earning USL Team of the Week honors alongside goalkeeper Andre Rawls who notched 10 saves during his debut with the club. New York City FC loanee Andres Mendoza scored the third goal of the match to secure the win.
"Sunday is an important early-season game," said Wilmington Hammerheads FC Technical Director and Head Coach Carson Porter. "There is no hiding that a win puts us at the top of the table where we think we belong and a loss puts us behind, fighting to catch up. Training has been sharp, the attitude of the players is right, and we are excited to go after the three points."
Charleston travels to Wilmington on Sunday for the first of four meetings between the two clubs this season. The Battery has made public that five players are currently injured, but could potentially be listed on the active roster for Sunday's match depending on the severity of the injuries.
Charleston is taking the pitch at Legion Stadium following a 1-1 draw versus New York Red Bulls II last weekend at Blackbaud Stadium. Houston Dynamo loanee Memo Rodriguez notched the one goal of the night for the Battery off a cross by Dane Kelly in first-half stoppage.
