LAST WEEK'S RESULTS April 19: at Hamilton - Bulldogs 4, IceCaps 1 Philippe Lefebvre scored two goals and Nathan Beaulieu added three assists as the Bulldogs broke a four-game losing skid with a 4-1 win. Lefebvre opened the scoring with his third goal of the season at 5:27 of the second period and Louis Leblanc followed with a shorthanded goal at 7:43 and defenceman Greg Pateryn made it 3-0 with his seventh goal of the season on the power play at 16:07. Josh Lunden got the visitors on the board at 7:24 of the third period before Lefebvre scored into an empty net at 17:34. The Bulldogs, who went 1-for-4 on the power play, got 30 saves from Robert Mayer before a crowd of 5,523 on Boots and Hearts Night. Juho Olkinuora made 30 saves for the IceCaps, who were 0-for-7 on the power play.

April 20: at Rochester - Americans 5, Bulldogs 1 The Americans got goals from five different players en route to a 5-1 win. Luke Adam struck on the power play at 18:41 of the first period and Dan Catenacci's first career AHL goal made it 2-0 at 3:31 of the second period. Olivier Archambault got the deficit to one with his first AHL goal, an unassisted effort at 10:13. Phil Varone restored the Americans' two-goal lead on the power play at 12:57 before Maxime Legault and Evan Rankin added third-period goals. Dustin Tokarski faced 27 shots for the Bulldogs who went 0-for-5 on the power play. The Americans, who got 29 saves from David Leggio, were 2-for-6 with the man advantage.

April 21: at Hamilton - Americans 4, Bulldogs 1 The Americans posted a 4-1 win over the Bulldogs in the back end of a home-and-home set before a regular-season finale crowd of 6,546. Maxime Legault opened the scoring at 6:52 of the first period and Frederic St-Denis tied the game on the power play with his seventh goal of the season at 4:39 of the second period. Matt Ellis, Phil Varone and Frederick Roy also scored for the Americans who got 30 saves from Matt Hackett while going 0-for-2 on the power play. Jacob Gervais-Chouinard faced 36 shots for the Bulldogs who were 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

TEAM NOTES The Bulldogs finished 17th in the league in attendance, playing before a total of 203,012 fans through 38 home dates for an average of 5,342 fans per game. The average per game is the third highest n club history, trailing 2004-05 (5,794) and 2001-02 (5,489). The Bulldogs' largest crowd this season was 18,582 for a 4-1 loss to the Syracuse Crunch at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Nov. 9. The Bulldogs' largest Copps Coliseum crowd was 8,819 for games against the Toronto Marlies on Oct. 19 and Jan. 19 ... The Bulldogs' 159 goals were the fewest in club history ... The Bulldogs scored a season-high six goals on four occasions ... Only four teams enjoyed fewer power plays than the Bulldogs, who held the man advantage on 298 occasions. The Adirondack Phantoms led the AHL with 387 power plays ... The Bulldogs' 11 road wins were the fewest in club history. They had won 12 games off the bus on three previous occasions ... The Bulldogs were ninth in the AHL in penalty minutes, averaging 19.04 per game. Their 1,447 penalty minutes were the most the club has recorded since 2006-07 ... The Bulldogs scored seven shorthanded goals this season with Michael Bournival and Gabriel Dumont each scoring two. The Bulldogs allowed six shorthanded goals ... The Bulldogs were 14-21-1-4 against North Division opponents and 22-32-1-5 against Western Conference foes ... The Bulldogs were 15-9-1-5 in one-goal games ... The Bulldogs failed to win a game in overtime for the first time in club history. The lost the only game they played settled in the extra period. They played eight games settled in shootouts, winning three ... The Bulldogs were 17-5-0-1 when scoring first. They opened the scoring in 23 games, fewest in the league ... The Bulldogs allowed an average of 31.36 shots per game, 23rd in the AHL, while taking an average of 27.66 shots per game, 28th in the league ... The Bulldogs were 13-12-1-1 in games in which they outshoot the opposition ... The Bulldogs finished third in the league at killing penalties at home, allowing 18 goals in 159 shorthanded situations for a kill rate of 88.7 percent.

PLAYER NEWS LW Olivier Archambault earned his first career AHL point with an assist against St. John's and he scored his first professional goal the next night at Rochester ... D Nathan Beaulieu and C Gabriel Dumont led the Bulldogs in scoring with 31 points, the lowest point total for any leading scorer in club history. Beaulieu became the first blueliner in club history to finish atop the team scoring race. Dumont, who only played 55 games, led the team with 16 goals while Beaulieu's 24 assists were the most on the team. Dumont's five-point effort against the visiting IceCaps on Dec. 28 was a team high ... RW Sebastian Collberg made his AHL against St. John's. he recorded four shots in the loss to visiting Rochester on Sunday ... C Louis Leblanc led the team with 161 shots on goal ... G Robert Mayer played 38 games, one fewer than last season, but played 87 more minutes than in 2011-12 and recorded a career-high 16 wins ... RW Zack Stortini finished fourth in the AHL with 241 penalty minutes, the highest total of his professional career ... C Joey Tenute produced the team's longest scoring streak, earning a point in seven consecutive games between Feb. 26 and March 10. He also compiled a team-high three-game goals streak during that run ... G Dustin Tokarski played 15 games for the Bulldogs, compiling a record of 6-8-0 with three shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.22 with a .927 save percentage.

EIGHT BULLDOGS RECALLED TO THE CANADIENS The Montreal Canadiens announced Monday that they are recalling eight players from the Bulldogs: Michael Bournival, Louis Leblanc and Petteri Nokelainen, defencemen Nathan Beaulieu, Greg Pateryn and Jarred Tinordi and goaltenders Robert Mayer and Dustin Tokarski.

The octet will practice at Hamilton this week under the direction of the Bulldogs coaching staff and report to Montreal on April 28.

SIX BULLDOGS SEE ACTION WITH CANADIENS Through Monday six players who began the season on the Bulldogs roster had seen action with the Montreal Canadiens.

That group comprises defenceman Nathan Beaulieu, right winger Mike Blunden, centre Gabriel Dumont, right winger Brendan Gallagher and defencemen Greg Pateryn and Jarred Tinordi. The sextet has combined for 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points in 71 games.

Two other players who began the season with the Bulldogs have also played games for other NHL clubs. Goaltender Cedrick Desjardins has played three games for the Tampa Bay Lightning, which acquired him in a trade for netminder Dustin Tokarski on Feb. 14, and right winger Aaron Palushaj who has contributed nine points, including two goals, in 24 games for the Colorado Avalanche since being claimed on waivers on Feb. 5.

2013 BULLDOGS SUMMER HOCKEY CAMP The Bulldogs will be running a summer hockey camp at the Mohawk 4 Ice Centre in Hamilton from July 29 to August 2.
