Halifax, (NS) - The Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action April 14th at the Scotiabank against the London Lightning. The Hurricanes defeated the Lightning 119-107. The Hurricanes now have a record of 24-9, leading the Atlantic Conference and the league in wins. With this loss the Lightning have a record of 22-13 and are in second place in the league standings, behind the Hurricanes.

Hurricanes led the Lightning 32-21 after the first quarter, and at halftime the Hurricanes led the Lightning 58-49. The Lightning outscored the Hurricanes 23-29 in the third quarter, and in the fourth quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Lightning 38-29, enough to earn a victory over the Lightning 119-107.

Guard, Justin Johnson led all scorers with 29 points and 8 assists. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 23 points for the Hurricanes. Forward, Mike Glover scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Forward, Billy White scored 13 points.

Forward, Stephen Maxwell scored 22 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Lightning. Center, Nick Evans scored 16 points. Forward, Akeem Wright scored 14 points. Guard, Akeem Scott scored 13 points. Guard, Nick Okorie scored 13 points. Guard, Warren Ward scored 12 points. Forward, Ryan Anderson scored 10 points.

The Hurricanes go on a 3 game road trip; beginning against the Windsor Express on the 16th, Moncton Miracles on the 21st and the Island Storm on 23rd. Hurricanes will play their last home game on Sunday 24th at the Scotiabank Centre.
