Guite, Toivonen lead Bruins to shootout win

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins completed their two-game season series on Saturday night in Pennsylvania, with the Bruins winning a 2-1 shootout thriller. With the victory, the Bruins moved past the Worcester IceCats into sole possession of fourth place in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins are now 34-26-3-7 (78 points) on the season.

Bruin center Keith Aucoin became the team's fourth player on the club to reach the 20-goal mark, when he connected on a power play at 9:25 of the first period. Brad Boyes and Andy Hilbert had the assists.

Providence center Ben Guite secured the win in the shootout, scoring the only goal of the frame, as the Bruins' fifth shooter.

Providence goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 32 shots to improve to 23-15-3 on the season. Toivonen stopped all five shots he faced in the shootout.

The Bruins play the second game of their four-game road trip on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:05 p.m., when they take on the Worcester IceCats. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and on the team website, www.providencebruins.com. The Bruins' next home game will be played on Sunday, April 3 at 4:05 p.m., when they host the Manchester Monarchs.
