Texas writes its own rules. Why would Groundhog Day be any different?
The groundhog traditionally predicts the beginning of spring or a prolonged winter by coming out of his habitat and looking for his shadow. While Groundhogs are not indigenous to Texas, the Prairie Dog is. So, we've created our own "Texas-Style Prairie Dog Day."
