Greenville Groove News Release
Greenville, SC â The Greenville Groove defeated the Asheville Altitude 87-76 on Sunday December 29th at the BI-LO Center. Greenville is now 2-1 versus the Altitude this season. With the victory Greenville is now 10-8, and Asheville falls to 8-10.
Donald Hand was named the Greenville Groove player-of-the-game. The former Virginia standout went 7 of 13 from the field for 22 points. Billy Thomas also contributed double figures, with 19 points and five rebounds.
Jeff Trepagnier, who had 19 points and eight rebounds, led the Altitude. Lee Scruggs (10 points) and Eddie Elisma (13 points) also had double digit performances.
There were six lead changes, and the game was tied once. Asheville out-scored Greenville 42-36 in the paint.
The next Groove game will be on January 3rd at 7:00 pm, Greenville will play host to top-ranked Huntsville.
