Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO - Members of the Fresno Grizzlies front office staff will be speaking to civic groups and joining schools for career days throughout the Central Valley over the next two months, as they continue to get fans ready for Opening Day set for Friday, April 16.
Last year, the Grizzlies visited more than 20 of theses community service organizations and school locations during the winter of 2003, spreading word about the upcoming season. This year the Grizzlies have many engagements already booked, but they are still looking for more opportunities to talk about baseball, upcoming promotions and ways that the organization can help in local communities.
"It is important to work together with our local civic organizations as we both have goals of being actively involved in the community," said Pat Filippone, President of the Fresno Grizzlies. "As with school speaking engagements, the Grizzlies are excited about generating career interests among students by exposing them to the variety of positions working behind the scenes in the sports world."
Program coordinators at civic groups or with area schools that would like to invite a member of the Fresno Grizzlies front office staff to a meeting or event, please contact Heather Raburn at 559-442-1994 or hraburn@fresnogrizzlies.com.
