Grizzlies release 2004 promotional schedule

Gateway Grizzlies News Release


The Gateway Grizzlies have announced that many of their popular entertainers will be coming back in the 2004 season. Myron Noodleman will be making his fourth appearance with the Grizzlies on June 11, 2004. The ZOOPerstars! will be back for their third year in a row on July 2, 2004. The Famous Chicken will also be back for his third year in a row on Aug 5, 2004. The Veggie Tales will be here on July 11, 2004 for their second year.

There will be fireworks after the home opener on May 28th, the Fourth of July and the season finale on August 24th. There will be two bobblehead nights. The Pete Buck Bobblehead provided by US Bank will be given to the first 1,000 fans on June 10th. Buck is the last remaining original Grizzlie player and is in place to become the league leading pitcher in career wins. The Craig Kuhl Bobblehead provided by Jansen Chevrolet and Pepsi will be given to the first 1,000 fans on July 10th. Kuhl has been with the Grizzlies since 2001. He has received the Groundskeeper of the Year in the Frontier League for the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

The most popular giveaway for the upcoming summer is the nesting doll, featuring Manager Danny Cox, Izzy the Grizzlie and General Manager Tony Funderburg. The nesting doll will be sponsored by Pepsi and given out at the August 12th game.

Every Tuesday, except for the season finale, will be a Time Warp Tuesday. Every night a different decade will be featured. The players will be dressed in time appropriate jerseys that will be given away to fans. The first 1,000 fans will receive mini-bobbleheads dressed in the same jerseys.

Season tickets, mini-plan packages and group tickets are currently on sale for the 2004 season, and can be purchased by calling the Grizzlies office at 618-337-3000.
