Nebraska Danger News Release

GRAND ISLAND, NE - Get to know the name Greg Hankerson, Jr. After five straight losses, Nebraska Danger coach Mark Stoute decided to make a big change at quarterback - bringing in Hankerson to see if he can boost a Danger team that has been struggling since the beginning of April.

While the Danger didn't get the win this past Saturday at Sioux Falls, the Danger took the Storm to the final whistle, falling 40-36. Hankerson, Jr's performance wasn't perfect by any stretch, but the Danger newcomer tossed four touchdowns compared to one interception.

Unlike previous quarterbacks, Hankerson, Jr. did well in spreading the offensive production around. In fact, running back Angelo Pease hauled in two of the four passing touchdowns in the game. Before that showing, Pease had just one receiving touchdown all season.

It's safe to say the offense is taking on a new look with Hankerson, Jr. at the helm, but only time will tell if it will result in a return to the win column. This week, the Danger return home to the friendly confines of the Heartland Events Center to take on the Green Bay Blizzard.

After earning a convincing win over the Blizzard in week three of the season, the Danger took a significant step back in a 47-25 loss to Green Bay back on May 5th. Now, a couple of weeks have passed, and the Danger have made plenty of moves in an effort to be more competitive down the stretch.

Kickoff between the Danger and the Blizzard is set for 7 p.m. at the Heartland Events Center this Friday, May 18. Taste of the Heartland begins at 6 pm, with samplings from numerous area restaurants. It is also First Responder Appreciation Night, with complimentary tickets available at the Box Office for all First Responders. The game will feature a very special national anthem and color guard presentation. Concession specials include $1 Hot Dogs and $2 Beers. Feature non-profit organization is MDA, help the Grand Island Fire Department "Fill the Boot" for Muscular Dystrophy.

Tickets for the 2018 Nebraska Danger Football Season are on sale through the Heartland Events Center Ticket Office, Ticketmaster.com, or local Pump and Pantry Locations. For more information, visit dangerfootball.com.
