Greenville Drive News Release

Greenville, SC - The third game of the series with the Rome Braves was taken by the Greenville Drive. Greenville beat Rome out with a close score of 4-3.

Both teams were eager to put runs on the board after two innings flew by with no runs scored. Justyn-Henry Malloy from Rome made a sacrifice fly to allow Brian Klein to score the first run in the third game of the series.

Greenville's Tyler McDonough answered back with an RBI double to tie the score at the bottom of the third. After 3.1 innings, Jordan DiValerio came in to replace Drive pitcher Wyatt Olds.

The tied score did not last long as the Braves made a move to take back the lead at the top of the fourth which brought the score to 3-1.

Greenville continued to stay behind until the seventh where they tacked on three more runs. Niko Kavadas heated things up with a two-run homer making it his fourth home run in a week. Joe Davis was next to bat and followed Kavadas' lead as he batted one over the Green Monster allowing the Drive to take the lead for the first time in the game.

Ryan Fernandez was called to the mound to finish the game and was able to hold the Braves to no runs and the Drive took the win.

Greenville looks to even the series tomorrow at 7:05.
