Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis.- Seattle University's Tarik Skubal, a 6'3" freshman pitcher, and University of Connecticut's 6'5" moundsman, Ryan Radue, are the eighth and ninth pitchers to join the Bullfrogs staff. The 2015 season marks the first in the Northwoods League for Skubal and second for Radue.
Ryan Radue, a red-shirt sophomore, has notched 12 appearances out of the Huskies bullpen. Radue holds a 4.40 ERA in 14.1 IP and has held opposing batters to a .224 AVG. Showcasing an electric fastball, Radue served as a valuable arm for the Lakeshore Chinooks in 2014. Radue helped Lakeshore capture a Northwoods League Championship, totaling 11 appearances and one start. A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, Radue was a three-year letter winner at Fox Valley Lutheran H.S. where he won conference MVP.
"Appleton is only a 20 minute drive from Green Bay and now my family will be able to come and watch me play more. Every team in the Northwoods League is good and a great place to play," said Radue. "You're always working and bettering yourself. Going against great hitters every day also helps in the process."
Already a starting hurler at Seattle University, Tarik Skubal is a three-pitch left-hander. As a freshman, Skubal is a part of a four-man rotation that is one of the best in the Western Athletic Conference. Through seven starts, Skubal has totaled 45 IP posting a 3-3 record with 30 strikeouts and just 16 walks. In an April 4th 2-1 victory over Sacramento State, Skubal lasted 6.1 IP, surrendering just one run with four strikeouts. Hailing from Kingman Academy (AZ), Skubal was a three-sport athlete in high school and tossed a perfect game in the 2014 playoffs.
"It will be an exciting place to play with really good fan attendance," said Skubal of the Northwoods League. "It will also be fun playing a lot of games in not that many days, so that's exciting. I'll be ready to work."
The Bullfrogs will open up the 2015 season at home on May 26th against the La Crosse Loggers. Group tickets, season tickets and 7-game packages are on sale now. The Bullfrogs off-season hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. For more information please visit www.greenbaybullfrogs.com.
