Great Seats Remain for SkyHawks' Home Opener
St. Louis, MO ~ The St. Louis SkyHawks announced today that great seats are still available for their 2002 inaugural season home opener against the Kansas Cagerz on Saturday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Mark Twain Basketball Arena.
Tipping off the SkyHawks inaugural season opener ceremonies is Sineta Roker-Hamilton, Fever Pitch/Universal Records newly signed artist. In a special solo performance, Roker-Hamilton is scheduled to sing her rendition of the National Anthem. She is the niece of the NBC Today Show weather-man, Al Roker.
To continue our mission of providing affordable family entertainment, the SkyHawks have a great show planned for everyone in the house on Saturday, said SkyHawks Managing Partner Micheal V. Roberts. The community support has been overwhelming and we are anticipating a sold out crowd. The SkyHawks organization really appreciates our corporate sponsors and early season ticket holders for their support and confidence in the SkyHawks inaugural season.
Opening night festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. when the Mark Twain Arena doors open. The first 1,000 fans in the doors will receive a free movie pass to see the newly released Scorpion King, courtesy of Harmon Mosely and the St. Louis Cinemas, including Galleria VI, Chase Park Plaza and the Screening Room at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Scorpion King posters and t-shirts will also be used in several giveaway contests throughout the night.
At halftime, Sineta Roker will return to the spotlight to sing one of her not-yet-released songs. Following Roker, a youth hip-hop dance squad from the Best Talent Center will perform a routine, while a Lil Tykes 5-on-5 basketball game featuring pres-school and kindergarten children will close out the halftime entertainment. Following the game, the SkyHawks players will return to the court for a 15-minute autograph session.
We are very excited about the talent of our team and know our fans will enjoy above-the-rim game and fast paced basketball the SkyHawk will provide. As a Best Sports City, we are pleased to contribute a professional basketball team that stays committed to the St. Louis style of providing first-class coaches and athletes.
