St. Louis, MO ~ The St. Louis SkyHawks of the United States Basketball League (USBL), tip-off tonight against the Dodge City Legend at the Mark Twain Basketball Arena at 7:00 p.m. Tonight marks the first of the four-games in four-days series, the SkyHawks will face this weekend.
In tonight's contest, the SkyHawks (0-2) face the Legend (2-3), from Dodge City, KS. Dodge City travels to St. Louis looking to grab their first road win of the season, following a 100-88 loss to the Kansas Cagerz on Tuesday night. The Legend is led by former University of Michigan standout Jimmy King, who is averaging 15.2 points in 5 games.
Following tonight's game, St. Louis heads to St. Joe, MO for a Midwestern Division meeting against the Express. St. Joe is 2-2 on the season, looking to continue with their perfect 2-0 home mark at the St. Joseph Civic Arena on Friday, May 3, against the SkyHawks.
On Saturday, May 4, the SkyHawks return to their homecourt for an exiciting matchup against the Florida Sea Dragons. Florida features Lazarus Sims and DeeAndre Hulett, two former players of the defunct International Basketball League's (IBL) 2000-01 St. Louis Swarm Championship Team. In addition to the above the rim basketball, fans will be greeted by Q95.5 radio personality and program director, Moshay, âYour Mid-day Mama', set to perform the National Anthem. At halftime, the fun continues as âALI' of the St. Lunatics, will perform a song off of his newly released album, Heavy Starch.
On Sunday, May 5 at 3:00 p.m., the SkyHawks host the NBA's all-time leading scorer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and his Oklahoma Storm for the final contest of their four-game stand. In his first year as head coach of the Storm, Abdul-Jabbar's team has a 2-2 overall record, 0-2 while on the road.
