
Big Weekend on Tap for USBL

MILFORD, CT - The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) has a full batch of games (14) the next four days. This part of the schedule could prove to be beneficial to the teams, as many of the games are interdivisional and would provide a small cushion for the teams as the season heats up.
On Thursday, May 2nd the Adirondack Wildcats, led by "Player & Rookie of the Week" Corsley Edwards venture to Fort Myers to take on the Florida Sea Dragons. The same night the Brevard Blue Ducks start a northern swing through the Eastern Divison with a contest against the Brooklyn Kings. Dodge City, coached by NBA great Cliff Levingston, will face the St. Louis SkyHawks, coached by NBA great Lionel Hollins. In the last match up of the night St. Joseph travels to take on the leading rebounder in the USBL, Johnny Jackson, and the Mid-West Division leading Kansas Cagerz.
The 2001 USBL Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs will have their home opener on May 3rd against division rival Brevard Blue Ducks. The Adirondack Wildcats will aslo open the home portion of their schedule against the Brooklyn Kings. The game will have a special attraction as San Francisco 49ers star Terrell Owens will be making his professional basketball debut. The Sea Dragons start their western road trip with a visit to Oklahoma to face the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar coached Oklahoma Storm. The St. Louis SkyHawks travel to St. Joseph to take on their state rival the Express.
On Saturday May 4th the Dodge City Legend travel to Salina to face their division rival, the Kansas Cagerz. Always a great rivalry, this game will be broadcast live on NBC affiliates in the state of Kansas. In the other game of the night the Sea Dragons continue their swing through the Mid-West with a contest against the ST. Louis SkyHawks. On the final day of a busy weekend, the division leading Brevard travels north to face the Adirondack Wildcats. Brooklyn continues a short road trip with a contest against the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs. St. Joseph makes its way to Dodge City to face the Legend. In the final game of a hectic weekend the Oklahoma Storm face the Kansas Cagerz.
