
USBL Tips Off 17th Season Friday

MILFORD, CT - The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) will be tipping off the 17th season of play with two games on Opening Night. Ten teams will take the floor this season in the USBL.
"This is an exciting time of year for the League and its franchises, said USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III. "I truly feel that the USBL will have its best season ever in 2002 and that the fans of the USBL will thoroughly enjoy the action-taking place this season. I wish every USBL franchise good luck as they all try to capture the 2002 USBL Crown."
On opening night, the expansion Adirondack Wildcats will travel to Brooklyn to take on the Kings. In the other game on opening night, Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs will start their defense of their 2001 USBL Championship when they travel to Brevard to take on the Blue Ducks, coached by Harvey Grant .
On Saturday the Dodge City Legend will host the expansion St. Joseph Express, the ValleyDawgs travel to Fort Myers to take on the Kevin Mackey coached, Florida Sea Dragons and the Kansas Cagerz travel to St. Louis to play the SkyHawks in their inaugural USBL season.
Rounding out opening weekend, the Adirondack Wildcats return to Brooklyn to take on the Kings and in what is arguably the most awaited game in USBL history, the Oklahoma Storm, coached by NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, travel to Dodge City to face the Legend.
