WHO: The Brevard Blue Ducks Basketball Team -- the newest and first pro basketball team to play season opening game.

WHAT: Join the excitement for the Blue Ducks' first game this Friday, April 19 at the 2,250-seat gymnasium at Palm Bay's Bayside High, the county's largest state-of-the-art gymnasium against the Pennsylvannia ValleyDawgs at 7 p.m.

The Blue Ducks, are a United States Basketball League (USBL) franchise, an independent league serving as the minor league organization for the NBA. More than 17 years old, the USBL has 10 teams and has launched the careers of such well-known players as Spud Webb, Anthony Mason, Chris Childs, Mugsy Bogues, Charlie Ward and Orlando's own Darrell Armstrong, to name a few.

WHY: Former NBA star forward Harvey Grant of the Washington Bullets and the Portland Trailblazers, and twin brother of Orlando Magic standout Horace Grant, Blue Ducks head coach; Donald Royal, formerly with the Orlando Magic and the Charlotte Hornets, Blue Ducks assistant coach; and NBA legend Artis Gilmore of the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs, Blue Ducks Director of Player Development will on hand for the first game.

Watch for basketball greats such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Darryl Hawkins as they coach through the USBL along with Blue Ducks coach Harvey Grant.
