Great Lakes Storm News Release

Birch Run, MI (January 5, 2005) – The Great Lakes Storm announced today the signing of Jermaine Jackson for the 2004-05 season, pending league approval. Per club rules, terms of the contract are confidential.

Jackson is no stranger to the Storm organization as he played for the Storm in 2002-03 for eight games, and again in 2003-04 for six games. The stints with the franchise are short because of his several CBA-to-NBA call-ups. In 2001-02, he was called up to the Toronto Raptors. In 2002-03, he had two of the six NBA call-ups that season. First he was called up by the Toronto Raptors on November 20th. The Atlanta Hawks then called up Jackson on January 30th, and he finished the season in Atlanta. Although his time in the CBA has been limited, he has had a lot of success. In 2003-04, he was averaging 23.8 points and 10.2 assists before leaving to play overseas. He is the Storm's all-time leader in assists with 275 in only 31 games (an average of 8.9 a game). His CBA career averages are 18.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg, and 8.2 apg.

"Jermaine brings quality experience to the team simply due to the fact he has spent time in the NBA," said Coach Bergman. "He also has the leadership and skills that it takes to be a successful point guard in this league."
