Great Falls Explorers announce dance team auditions

ALBANY, NY (August 9, 2006) -The Great Falls Explorers of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) have announced dance team auditions for their inaugural season. The auditions will be held at the University of Great Falls Gymnasium on August 19, 2006 at 9am. Candidates should be present by 8:30am for on-site registration.

"We are seeking talented, personable, and dedicated dancers to join our dance team," said Becky Acra, Explorers' Dance Team Choreographer/Coordinator. "We look forward to assembling a quality dance team that would be the pride of not only the Explorers' organization, but the Great Falls community as a whole."

Registration forms for the dance team auditions can be obtained from the Great Falls Explorers corporate office on the grounds of Montana ExpoPark at 400 3rd Street NW, Great Falls, MT 59405. Dancers may pre-register for a $10 fee, or register at the auditions for $15. All registration fees are non-refundable, and applications must be submitted by the time of the tryouts.

Potential candidates must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Hip- hop experience is a plus. Candidates should be wearing fitted dance clothes for the auditions. Dancers will be judged based on ability to grasp choreographed routines, maintain a positive attitude and communicate effectively along with physical and personal appearance. Team members will be expected to perform high-energy, fast paced dance routines as well as make personal appearances on behalf of the Great Falls Explorers, supporting various events throughout the year.

The CBA recently completed its 60th anniversary season on March 27 with the Yakama Sun Kings defeating the Gary Steelheads in a best-of-three-game series. That series featured the CBA's 2006 Player of the Year, Anthony Goldwire (Sun Kings), and the CBA's 2006 Coach of the Year, Jaren Jackson (Steelheads).
