Great Falls Explorers Announce Free Agent Tryout Camp

Great Falls, MT - August 22, 2007 - The Great Falls Explorers of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) have announced that the team will be holding a free agent tryout camp for their second CBA season. The camp will be held in Kansas City, MO at the Ledo Gymnasium on Thursday and Friday, September 6th and 7th starting at 9am.
"Holding a tryout in Kansas City helps us get a look at many more talented players than we could in Great Falls alone," said Ryan Acra, Explorers' General Manager. "We look forward to assembling a quality team that would be the pride of not only the Explorers' organization, but the Great Falls community as a whole. We will also have a tryout in Montana down the road to hopefully find some local talent to weave in with our new and returning players."
Registration forms for the tryout can be obtained from the Great Falls Explorers website, www.greatfallsexplorers.com. Players may pre-register for a $150 fee, or register the day of the camp for $185. All registration fees are non-refundable, and applications must be submitted by the time of the tryouts.
The Explorers are entering their second season in the CBA after compiling a 24-24 record a year ago.
This season former NBA All-Star Scott Wedman will coach the Explorers. Coach Wedman along with the Explorers' Front Office would like to become the premier developmental program in basketball. The organization's hope is that after a season with the Explorers, players have the chance to move to the NBA, or to a great contract overseas.
The CBA season begins on November 15 and the playoffs conclude on April 9. Training camp begins on November 5. The Explorers cover housing and most transportation when in Great Falls, MT, and offer a number of other perks throughout the city.
