Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE (Feb. 9, 2009) - Remember those college days, when Ramen noodles seemed expensive and selling back textbooks qualified as an investment strategy?

Great Clips and the Milwaukee Wave appreciate students' financial challenges. On Sunday, Feb. 22, Great Clips franchisees in the Milwaukee area are sponsoring College Day at the Wave. More than 600 college students from various colleges will be able to attend the Wave's game against the Chicago Storm free. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Colleges involved with the program will distribute tickets at their discretion. Contact Steve Goralski at the Milwaukee Wave at 414-908-6341 to learn if your school is involved and how to get those tickets.

Great Clips will also perform Clips for Charity at the game, offering haircuts and donating the proceeds to Wave of Kindness. Wave of Kindness makes soccer accessible to low-income youth through camp scholarships, clinics and tickets to Milwaukee Wave games.

Great Clips was established in 1982 in Minneapolis. Today, the company has more than 2,700 salons throughout the United States and Canada, making Great Clips the largest single-brand salon in North America.

The Milwaukee Wave are four-time champions of indoor soccer. Their next home game is 2 p.m. Feb. 15 against Detroit. For more information on College Day or other Wave games and promotions, call 414-224-9283 or visit milwaukeewave.com.

Founded last summer by the Chicago Storm, Detroit Ignition, Milwaukee Wave and New Jersey Ironmen, the Xtreme Soccer League is more than an indoor soccer league. The Xtreme Soccer Xperience is an energetic and innovative 12-month sports lifestyle brand built around skilled soccer professionals, entertainment and fan participation - both live and online.
