
Grant To Go 'Camping' One Week Before Season Opens

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks' seven-time All-Pro and all-time leading scorer John Grant will go "camping" one week prior to the team's season opener against the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, January 9th. Knighthawks fans should not get nervous, as the camping Grant will undertake will not include hiking and setting up tents. It will feature what he does best: Play and teach the game of lacrosse.
Kids can learn from one of the best in the game from Tuesday, December 29thto Wednesday, December 30 th at the Knighthawks Boys Winter Lacrosse Clinic at Brighton Sports Zone. Grant enters his 10th season with the Rochester Knighthawks in 2010 and is the team's all-time leader in goals (394), assists (417) and points (811).
"I am fortunate to be back on the floor with the Knighthawks this season, and I look forward to giving some young laxers some tips during the holidays," said Grant. "It will give me a chance to reconnect with some of our younger lacrosse fans, and to give back to the sport I love."
He will join Head Instructor and Nazareth Head Coach Rob Randell, and Pittsford Varsity Coach Andrew Whipple at the Winter Camp. To join this all-star cast of lacrosse instructors, the cost is only $69 ($39 for goalies) and includes a free ticket to the Knighthawks opener on Saturday, January 9th at 8:05 p.m. against the Buffalo Bandits.
The camp is open to boys ages 8 to 14 and will cater to skill levels ranging from first graders to junior varsity. Each day the camps will run from 10:00 a.m. to noon. To sign up for the camp, go to rochesteryouthcamps.com or call (585) 739-1612.
Individual tickets for the 2010 NLL season are also available at all Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com, and at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office. The Knighthawks return to preseason action on Sunday, December 20th at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena, as they host the Boston Blazers at 10:30 a.m.
