
Grant And Williams Can Reach Milestones Tonight In Colorado

(Rochester, NY)...The Rochester Knighthawks begin their two-game in three-night road trip tonight with a 9:00 p.m. contest against the Colorado Mammoth at Pepsi Center. The game will be carried live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet (Channel 26). The contest will also be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and B2 Networks.
Tonight, John Grant and Shawn Williams can both reach personal milestones. Grant is eight points away from 800 and Williams (707) is six points away from passing Paul Gait for seventh place on the league's all-time points list. Grant will become only the fourth player in NLL history to pass the 800-point plateau, joining John Tavares, Gary Gait and Colin Doyle.
Rochester (5-6) enters the games after one of its best performances of the season, defeating the first-place Philadelphia Wings 20-12. Grant led the way with four goals and four assists and moved into the first place on the league's scoring list with 73 points (35+38) in 11 games. The âHawks also scored four shorthanded to give them a league-leading 16. Further, the Knighthawks moved into the top spot among league penalty-killing units, holding Philadelphia three for nine on the power play. With the victory, Rochester now sits two and a half games out of first place.
After starting the 2008 campaign 5-0, Colorado (6-4) has dropped four of its last five games but remain in first place in the West Division. The Mammoth own a 3-2 all-time record against the Knighthawks, including last season's 20-15 victory in the home opener. This year Colorado is led by Gavin Prout, whose 60 points are ninth best in the league. Prout's 45 assists are also tied for a first in the NLL.
On Saturday, April 5th, the Knighthawks journey to the Air Canada Centre in Toronto to take on the Rock at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and B2 Networks. The game will also be carried live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet (Channel 26).
After the road trip, Rochester returns for its final home game on Saturday, April 12th as the Buffalo Bandits come to town. As part of Fan Appreciation festivities, the first 5,000 fans will take home replica 2007 NLL Championship banners, courtesy of Connors & Ferris. The Knighthawks will hold their annual jersey auction on Military Night with all proceeds going to Foodlink. That night, Rochester will wear special camouflage jerseys. It's also Awards Night, as the Knighthawks honor the best performances of the season. The 7:35 p.m. game will be broadcast live on WYSL 1040-AM, wysl1040.com and B2 Networks.
