Gove played eight games with the Bucks during the inaugural 2002-03 season. He had four goals and 12 assists and was quickly called up to San Antonio in the AHL. He scored a goal and handed out a Bucks franchise record five assists in the first ever hockey game played in Laredo on 11/01/2002.

"Gove was the type of kid I loved," Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski said. "He worked hard and when you work hard good things happen. He could really hit, despite not being a real big guy. I still keep in touch with him. Terrific kid and I am glad he finally got a break to get to the NHL."

Gove, 27, was signed by Carolina as a free agent on August 9, 2005. The Centerville, Mass., native has tallied 27 points (12g, 15a) in 43 games with the Lock Monsters this season. He is third on the team in scoring.

The sixth year pro notched 31 points (13g, 18a) and 30 penalty minutes for Providence (AHL) in 2004-05. In five AHL seasons with Grand Rapids, San Antonio, Utah, Providence and Lowell he has totaled 139 points (56g, 79a) in 277 games.

Gove played his college hockey at Western Michigan, where he scored 143 points (57g, 86a) in 144 games, including 59 points (22g, 37a) in 39 games during his senior season.

Gove will be available for the Hurricanes game tonight in Montreal.

Former Buck Petr Taticek was called up to the Florida Panthers and made his NHL debut on 01/20, becoming the first former Laredo player to play in the NHL.
