Gorillas Host Lubbock Tonight in Preseason Finale

AMARILLO TX – The action, passion and excitement of professional hockey returns to the Panhandle tonight, even though it is only a pre-season game. Hockey fans get their first glimpse at the 2003-2004 Amarillo Gorillas.

The Gorillas will try to make it back-to-back pre-season wins when they host the Lubbock Cotton Kings tonight 7 p.m. at the Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center in the final CHL Pre-season game of the schedule.

The Gorillas dumped the Cotton Kings 8-3 in Lubbock on Friday night with Darrell Upton scoring a hattrick.

Fans are encouraged to bring their walkmans and headsets to the game and listen to it live on Hot 99.7 beginning with Gorillas Game night at 6:40 pm The puck drops shortly after 7 p.m. The game will also be heard live on the gorillas website at www.amarillogorillas.com

Tickets for tonight's game are just $5 and can be picked up at the Gorillas Hockey Office located at 1934 Civic Circle in Wolflin Village off of I-40 and Georgia, the Civic Center Box Office; at Panhandle Ticket Outlets located at Randy's Music Mart, WT Event Center in Canyon, United Supermarkets in Amarillo, Dumas, Pampa and Borger. The Central Hockey League season begins on Saturday night for the Gorillas when they travel back to Lubbock to face the arch-rival Cotton Kings at 7 p.m. at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.

The Gorillas opening weekend is set for Friday, October 24 when they host the expansion Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and then the Wichita Thunder on Saturday, October 25. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
