Utica City FC News Release
UTICA, NY - General Manager Tommy Tanner and Utica City FC announced the re-signing of forward Gordy Gurson. Gurson was acquired in free agency during the 2022 offseason and made his presence known immediately, serving as a vital piece to UCFC's success. He tallied 22G and 19A (6th in league) for a total of 41 points (5th in league) and led the team in both categories. He also led the league in the clutch, potting seven game-winning goals- many of which electrified the home UCFC fanbase and was voted as a member of the 2022-23 MASL Second Team for his outstanding play.
Tanner was happy to bring a player of Gurson's caliber back to Utica for another season, quoted as follows: "Very excited to have him back- last year was easily one of his best seasons in the MASL. He's an integral part of the offense, a great leader, and an active part of our ongoing efforts to contribute to the community. We look forward to him producing at an even higher level this coming season."
Gurson, with a smile on his face, had the following to say: "Excited to be back with the best fans in the league! Time to take care of some unfinished business."
