
Goldie returns to Pride

FLORENCE, SC â The Pee Dee Pride announced today that they have agreed to terms with right wing Wes Goldie for the 2004-2005 season.
Goldie led the Pride in scoring in last season, setting career highs in goals (36) assists (25) and points (61). He also received his first call-up to the American Hockey League, appearing in two games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, scoring one goal in his two-game stint.
This season will be Goldie's fifth full season with the Pride. He ranks fourth in team history in games played with 267, while also ranking in the top five with 114 goals (fourth) and 198 points (fifth).
"Wes stepped up to the plate last year and had an outstanding season," Pride Head Coach Perry Florio said. "He was an offensive force, a terrific penalty killer and a very good captain. We are excited to have him and his wonderful family back here for next season."
The Pride open the 2004-2005 regular season on Friday, October 22, hosting the Roanoke Express at 7:30 p.m. The Pride continue their season-opening three-game home stand on Saturday, October 23 taking on the Greensboro Generals at 7:30 p.m., and on Tuesday, October 26 with a 7:00 p.m. match-up with the Gwinnett Gladiators.
