Gold Secures Victory over the Swarm 120-97

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Gold (11-13) secured a big victory over the Greensboro Swarm (10-14). The Gold took the lead early on in the game and were able to extend it by as much as 28 points. The high energy in Van Andel Arena worked well for the team tonight as they shot well from the free throw line making 81.8% compared to just 66.7% for the Swarm. The Gold shot slightly better from beyond the arc making 38.1% compared to 25.8% for the Swarm.

Both Au'Diese Toney and Jamorko Pickett recorded double-doubles for the Gold tonight. Toney had 17 points and 11 rebounds while Pickett recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds. Zak Irvin made 100% of his shots tonight and led the team in points with 19. Solely Boum had an impressive performance off the bench with 18 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Other high scorers for the team were Walter Ellis (16 pts) and Will Richardson (15pts).

Jaylen Sims was a stand out player for the Swarm with 19 points and 4 rebounds. Aleksej Pokusevski also made an impact with 15 points, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Three other players recorded points in the double digits led by Marcus Garrett with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, followed by Kent Bazemore (10 pts and 7 reb) and Trevon Scott(10 pts and 3 reb).
