GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Grand Rapids Gold (2-0) powered their way to another win against the Westchester Knicks (0-2) with a final score of 110-96. The Gold dominated down low tonight, earning 50 points in the paint compared to only 22 for the Knicks, resulting in the home team leading by as much as 24 points during regulation. In addition to the Gold's aggressiveness on offense, the team's smart defensive plays gave them an edge tonight. Grand Rapids' defense was unmatched as they played the passing lanes well and contested shots with straight posture.

Two Gold players tied for a team-high 17 points. Big man Giorgi Bezhanishvili nearly reached a double-double with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Trevon Duval earned another 17 points along with 3 assists. Matt Ryan followed up with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Other Gold players in double digits were Manny Camper (12pts, 5 rebs, 2 stls), Quade Green (11 pts, 6 rebs), and Jermaine Haley (11 pts, 4 rebs, 4 assists).

The Knicks' Blake Francis hustled up a game-high 26 points and 4 assists. Dewan Hernandez racked up a double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Jordan Allen also added 21 points to the away team's stat line, along with 4 assists and 3 rebounds and 2 steals. V.J. King contributed another team double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds 5 assists and 2 steals.
