November 2, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Las Vegas Gladiators News Release
The Las Vegas Gladiator Goddesses will make a special appearance at the 5th Annual COOKING WITH GUSTAV scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Sazio in the Orleans Hotel/Casino on Tropicana, beginning at 6pm, benefiting the St. Jude's Ranch for Children.
COOKING WITH GUSTAV is an annual holiday themed cooking demonstration and dinner, where attendees get an opportunity to sample the delicacies prepared in the demonstration. Gustav will take the mystery and anxiety out of preparing the "dreaded" turkey dinner by giving his preparation secrets and tips.
Every year, Certified Master Chef Gustav Mauler partners with the Las Vegas Review-Journal Taste Section for this annual event to benefit a local charity. This year's charity is St. Jude's Ranch for Children, a non-profit organization based in Boulder City that services the area's foster children.
New this year, Gustav has invited Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada and the AFL Las Vegas Gladiator Goddesses Dance Team to assist with the festivities. Southern Wine and Spirits' Wine Educator will present a holiday wine pairing seminar to compliment the traditional turkey feast. The Goddesses will play hostess, sign autographs and provide unique fundraising activities on behalf of the charity.
Gustav is a proud sponsor of the Goddesses for a second season. The Goddesses make appearances at charity events on behalf of their sponsors. The dance troupe held a mini-dance camp for St. Jude's Ranch over the summer, also on behalf of Gustav's company.
Gustav will prepare Mushroom Barley Soup, Herb Roasted Turkey, Fennel, Pine-nut and Roasted Lemon Stuffing, Sweet Potato Casserole, Brussels Sprouts Hash, Cranberry Orange Relish, and Bourbon Pumpkin Tart with Walnut Streusel.
Open to the public, tickets are available at Spiedini in the JW Marriott, and at Sazio in the Orleans. The ticket price of $50.00 per person includes demonstration, dinner, tax and tip and a portion of every ticket sold will go to the charity. For additional information call 948-9500. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended.
