Goddesses have arrived in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV, October 25, 2004 – Las Vegas now has its Goddesses!!! The Las Vegas Gladiators have renamed the dance team and they will now be known as 'The Goddesses of the Las Vegas Gladiators.'

After hundreds of e-mails and entries from Gladiator fans nationwide, the Gladiators have decided that the new name Goddesses will revamp the look and attitude of the hottest dance team in the AFL for years to come.

In addition, each dancer will have there own personal Goddess name that reflects their individual persona. Listed below are those names:

Aleesha, Goddess of Ice

Amber, Goddess of Victory

Amy, Goddess of Soul

Angela, Goddess of Hope

Ashley, Goddess of Night

Christy, Goddess of Rain

Jennifer, Goddess of Strength

Jessica, Goddess of Spirit

Judith, Goddess of Temptation

Judy, Goddess of Thunder

Katie, Goddess of Grace

Lauren, Goddess of Beauty

Megan, Goddess of Rock

Sondra, Goddess of Passion

Sumayah, Goddess of Fire

Victoria, Goddess of Love

The Gladiators wanted a new moniker for their dance team and partnered with ESPN Radio 920 for a contest to rename the team. The Gladiators were looking for a name that represented the dance team's flair and style while still keeping with the Gladiator theme.

The person who chose the name of the Goddesses was Virginia Allen and she was the winner of two (2) 2005 season tickets, lunch with two of the Goddesses and quarterback Clint Dolezel and offensive specialist Marcus Nash.

ESPN Radio was promoting the changing of the team name on air since Wednesday, September 22.
