Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced Tuesday that the team has signed goaltender Matthew Krahn for the 2013-14 season. Terms and conditions were not released.
"We are excited to have 'Krahner' back in a RiverKings jersey," said Landmesser. "We look for him to build off his rookie season and to get better every night. With the duo we have between the pipes it gives us a great chance to win every night."
Krahn echoed Landmesser's sentiments.
"I had a good rookie season last year and I'm looking forward to continuing that," Krahn said. "This is a great organization and I'm excited about coming back to Southaven."
Krahn, 22, appeared in 35 games in his rookie season with the RiverKings in 2012-13. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound netminder tallied a 15-14-4 record with a 2.92 goals against average and a 90.9 save percentage.
The RiverKings open their 2013-14 quest for the President's Cup at home on October 26 against the Louisiana IceGators. Group tickets start at $8 and are available by contacting the RiverKings front office at 662-342-1755.
