"Fifty years of recreational soccer is something to be proud of. For a recreational club to stand the test of time providing quality programming and fun is very special. This partnership will allow us to increase engagement with all levels of soccer. It provides the opportunity for us to make a significant impact at the recreational level," says Jeff Hunt, Atlético Ottawa President.
"The Dragons are one of the only independent recreational clubs in Ontario and it shows the versatility in our Powered by Atlético Ottawa community program. We not only want to promote the best players in the city and support minor soccer, but we also want to be involved at the grassroots level. This shows our commitment to work together with all types of soccer organizations in the region and gives us the opportunity to get out into the community at the recreational level," says Fernando Lopez, Atlético Ottawa, CEO.
"As the only sanctioned club in Ottawa focused on 100% FUN youth recreational soccer, the Gloucester Dragons are thrilled to partner with Atlético Ottawa. Everyone in the Dragons community - our players, parents, officials and volunteers - are looking forward to participating in the Powered by Atlético program and watching Ottawa's professional soccer team take the field at TD Place this summer," says Bill Coleman, Gloucester Dragons, President.
