Summerside Storm News Release

(Summerside, PE) The Award-Winning Global News National News Magazine program, 16x9, will air a story on the Summerside STORM of the NBL this coming Friday evening at 8pm.

The crew of 16x9 made two trips to Prince Edward Island to produce the segment and the following is an excerpt from the program:

Team captain Al Stewart says the tight-knit community just knows you after a while. He's even been called out for autographs over the intercom at a local Wal-Mart. "Al if you're still here we have a few autographs you could sign please for a few children! I was behind something in the electronics section I was like really?," Al laughs. "And so I get to the front and it's like 7 kids and their parents." Shooting guard Greg Plummer describes a fanbase that treats him more like family than celebrity. "This [is] not that type of place where people are just swarming you," Greg says. "They're more likely to invite you over for dinner, which is right up my alley."

The following tells a bit about 16x9, the program:

Chief Correspondent Carolyn Jarvis and our award-winning team of investigative reporters and producers uncover important stories that would otherwise remain hidden, and tell them the way important stories are meant to be told. We also find smaller stories, the ones that warm your heart as well as the ones that break it. And we tell all these stories the way they should be told, showing you the whole picture.

The story is a timely one as the STORM open up their first ever playoff series this coming Sunday afternoon as the leagues #2 seed at Credit Union Place at 2pm against the Windsor Express. Game two in the NBL semi-final goes Tuesday night at 7pm and if a fifth game is needed in the series it will be played Tuesday April 2nd in Summerside at 7pm.

Tickets are on sale now at the Credit Union Box Office or by going online and purchasing through the STORM website.
