
GLIFL Surges Forward with Expansion

The Great Lakes Indoor Football League is pleased to announce its twelfth team for the 2007 season, the New England Surge. The Surge will have an official press conference on September 14th to announce their home for the 2007 season and provide a formal introduction for the team owner, Roy Lucas.
"I'm proud to be a member of the GLIFL, The primary mission of the GLIFL is to create a player developmental program for professional football teams at every level," Lucas said. In addition to owning the Surge, Lucas is the owner of Reps with Roy Fitness Systems. Lucas believes that he can use his system to train his players for play in the GLIFL. Reps with Roy Fitness Systems is absolutely committed to designing a safe and effective sports conditioning and/or fitness program tailored for your unique sport-fitness and health goals.
The company is dedicated to teaching its clients the five components of total fitness: Cardio-Respiratory, Muscular Strength & Endurance, Flexibility, Body Composition, and Rest. In addition, it teaches its clients the five dimensions of well-being: Spiritual, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, and Physical.
"It is the task of the New England Surge to provide that critical training component for young men playing for our team and other GLIFL teams in our league," Roy added. Roy's professional accomplishments include:
- 1996 Founder and Owner of Reps with Roy Fitness Systems, Inc. (Shrewsbury, MA)
- Former Professional Football player in Minor League Football System. (Pueblo Crusaders, Pueblo Colorado)
- 1988 Free agent Tryout with Dallas Cowboys
- Graduate of Burncoat Senior High School in 1981
- High School Three Sport Standout (Football, Basketball, and Track)
- T&G Super Team Athlete
- Lincoln Square Boys & Girls Club Senior & Junior Boy of the Year.
- Graduate of Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota with a Degree in Communication and Minor in Coaching Theory.
- Lettered in Four Varsity sports Collegiate-Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track.
- Twenty years plus of Coaching and Playing
- 1996 Head Strength Coach for the Assumption College Football Team
- 1997 Assistance Football Coach & Strength Conditioning Coach at Curry College
- 2006 Founder & Owner, President, and General Manager of The New England Surge of the Great Lakes Indoor Football League
