Brandon, Manitoba - For the second straight month, the Brandon Wheat Kings' Tip Top Tailors Player of the Month is going to the Western Hockey League club's leading scorer.
17-year old Scott Glennie joins veteran Jay Fehr as this year's recipients, capturing November's Award after leading the Wheat Kings in scoring in twelve games last month. Fehr won the first Player of the Month Award this season, after leading the club in scoring in September / October.
A former second round bantam draft choice of the Wheat Kings, Glennie scored eight goals and had 16 points in twelve games. As well, he registered an impressive +7 plus / minus rating.
A 6'1" 182 lb Winnipeg product, Glennie enters the month of December sitting atop the club scoring race with fifteen goals, 32 points and a +13 plus / minus rating in 28 game. Through the first two months of the 2008-09 campaign, Glennie has three powerplay tallies, four game winning goals and one Overtime Shootout winner.
Since joining the Wheat Kings in the fall of 2007, the former Winnipeg AAA Midget Wild is averaging more than a point per game, having scored 41 goals and 90 points in 88 games.
In recognition of the monthly honour, Glennie will receive a shirt, tie and suit from Tip Top Tailors in the Shoppers Mall, the official menswear clothier of the Wheat Kings during this Saturday's game against the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers at Westman Place.
Before facing off against the Tigers, the Wheat Kings will close out a 5-game road trip Friday night in Swift Current against the Broncos. Brandon enters the weekend with a record of 15-11-1-1, after going 5-6-1 during the month of November.
